Tired of eating the western style food being served in the hotels around Victoria Falls and curious to explore some local food and drinks? Taste the chibuku beer, it is a sorghum-based beer based on the traditional Umqombothi home-made beer the people of southern Africa have been knocking back since time immemorial. Mashed by hand and brewed in earthenware pots over woodfires, no religious ceremony or social gathering was complete without it. We schedule the brief 45 min guided tour around lunch and dinner time,..so you may just have a meal at your favorite spot right after the tour finishes. Bon Appetit! We meet at our Savannah Adventure tour desk at N1 Hotel where you will sample baobab juice, chibuku beer and roasted maize . Then you visit with our guide a Restaurant situated around a train carriage under a huge safari tent, a local Craft Brewery, a Gin Factory, a local hang out where you get the Zimbabwean Sadza and a Western Style place. You have a chance to look at the menus of them and can get a nice idea where you may eat after the tour or in the days to come. At our last restaurant you will be able to choose 4 out of 8 samplers to get a taste on local cuisine. You can choose between: Air dried Zimbabwean Biltong Mopani Worms Wood fired roasted peanuts Karpenta (fish) Amagwinya ( dough balls) Oyster Mushroom Mutakura (mixed bean snack) and Chicken feet. We are sure you will be delighted to have the opportunity to discover with our guide the local hangouts and maybe visit them during your stay in Victoria Falls. We meet our guests at N1 Hotel in Victoria Falls at our Savannah Adventures Tour desk inside, located right next to the 24 hour reception desk.It is a guided walking tour with a choice of 4 samples of local food you can try. It can encourage you to remain and try some local or western cuisine, but restaurant visit after the food sampling is optional. Drinks at restaurant are not included, but on the guided tour we include a bottle of water for our guests.
