Schools in Zambia
Government schools in Zambia are poorly funded and lack resources. Most of the more affluent residents send their children to a rather expensive private school. At present a number of children attend boarding school in South Africa for their secondary education although there are an increasing number of good secondary schools, mainly in Lusaka. Private schools operate independently of the Zambian government and have flexibility in their admissions, curriculum choice and academic year.
